Police report shooting at a block party in Memphis leaves 2 dead and 6 injured

According to authorities, a park in Memphis, Tennessee, experienced a tragic turn of events on Saturday when a block party, attended by hundreds of people, resulted in the loss of two lives and left six others injured.

During a press conference, Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis stated that 14 individuals were taken to the hospital as a result of the shooting. However, the department later provided an update, revising the number down to six.

According to the department’s social media statement, they believe that the error occurred due to multiple victims being reported multiple times.

According to the police, three individuals were rushed to local hospitals in critical condition.

According to a recent update by the police, one of the individuals who were injured in the incident is still in critical condition as of midnight. However, there is some positive news as well, as another person has been discharged from the hospital.

According to authorities, it is estimated that approximately 200 to 300 individuals participated in the party on Saturday. Davis indicated that initial findings indicate that the block party was not authorized.

Authorities currently do not have any individuals in custody as suspects, but they have reason to believe that multiple individuals discharged firearms during the occurrence of this shooting incident.
