Police officer in Kansas City, Missouri, shot and wounded during routine traffic stop

A traffic stop in Kansas City, Missouri, resulted in a police officer being shot and subsequently hospitalized.

According to the police, the officer was performing a traffic stop in the vicinity of 46th Terrace and South Benton. The reason for the stop was a suspected case of impaired driving.

More officers arrived at the scene to provide assistance.

According to the police, while the officers were in the midst of apprehending the man, he managed to obtain a firearm and fire it, hitting one of the officers.

The man was successfully apprehended by additional officers, who were able to regain control of the firearm.

The officer was transported to the hospital and is believed to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The man involved in the incident did not sustain any injuries, and it’s worth noting that the police officers did not discharge their firearms.

The man is still in custody.

The detectives are currently investigating the incident.
