Police are currently searching for an unidentified suspect in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in a historic neighborhood of Washington, D.C. in the early hours of Sunday. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives in the incident, while five others sustained injuries. As of now, the suspect remains at large and authorities are actively working to apprehend them.

According to the department, the individual was last spotted walking southbound on 7th Street NW. They emphasized that it is crucial not to take any action and instead call 911 immediately.
On Sunday afternoon, the police reported that a seventh victim had arrived at the hospital on his own.
The authorities are currently withholding the identities of the victims as they notify their next of kin.
Police are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting, stating that a preliminary investigation by detectives indicates that one or more suspects deliberately fired a firearm at the victims.

According to Carroll, the current information available suggests that there were a total of seven individuals who were shot at the specified location. Tragically, two of them have been confirmed as deceased.
Police have not released the names of the two individuals who were killed, as they are currently in the process of notifying their next of kin.
Carrol revealed that the other shooting victims were hospitalized, however, he refrained from disclosing any details regarding their current conditions.
