According to the Georgia State Patrol, they determined in their initial investigation that Hill had lost control of her Hyundai Sonata, resulting in a collision with both a guardrail and a tractor-trailer.

After receiving witness statements and reviewing new dash camera video, GSP investigators concluded that Cassar, driving a Volkswagen Passat, improperly changed lanes into Hill’s path and collided with her car.

GSP has accused Cassar of committing multiple offenses, including two counts of first-degree vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, improper lane change, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, and tampering with evidence.

Hill is also facing charges for five counts of child restraint and five counts of reckless conduct, according to investigators.

According to Spalding County jail records, Cassar is currently in custody without bond.
