Maryland house fire and explosion leaves one person injured, according to fire department

According to a fire official, a man sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital following a fire and explosion at a house located in the suburbs east of Baltimore City, Maryland.

Late on Saturday, the Baltimore County Fire Department swiftly responded to a two-alarm fire, as stated on their social media.

The explosion left the house on Ridgemoor Road in Essex, Maryland, in ruins, as seen in the photographs shared by the department.

Officials said that hazmat and fire investigators were en route to the scene, and crews were anticipated to remain at the site for a considerable duration.

According to an email from Lt. Twana Allen to ABC News, the man who was injured was taken to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening.
