KCPD: A man was found shot Friday in east Kansas City and died at the hospital

Kansas City, Missouri police are currently investigating the tragic shooting death of a 25-year-old man who was discovered injured in a business parking lot on Friday morning.

Officers from the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) were summoned for assistance on an 8 a.m. shooting incident at the intersection of East 67th Street and Cleveland Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Dontae Sims in a parking lot adjacent to a local business.

According to the spokesperson, Sims was on the opposite side of the street from the business when an unidentified assailant suddenly began shooting, hitting Sims.

Authorities are actively seeking potential witnesses who may possess valuable information regarding the incident and are currently engaged in efforts to locate them.
