Travis Kelce, in his typical fashion, celebrated the long-awaited accomplishment of receiving his college degree by chugging a beer.
Kansas City Chiefs star, Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason Kelce, both attended the University of Cincinnati for their undergraduate studies. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, they were unable to participate in their graduation ceremonies. Fortunately, the opportunity has finally arrived for them to celebrate this significant milestone in their academic journey, as reported by the Cincinnati Inquirer.
The Inquirer reported that the brothers hosted their “New Heights” podcast event at Fifth Third Arena on Thursday night. And, of course, they did so while wearing cap and gowns.
According to the Inquirer, Travis Kelce successfully completed his remaining credit hours to earn a degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2022. Meanwhile, Jason Kelce obtained a degree in marketing, although he did not attend the commencement ceremony.
Dr. Neville Pinto, the President of the University of Cincinnati, donned graduation regalia as he handed out the diplomas to the two brothers. The Kelce brothers were accompanied by their parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, who joined them on stage for this special occasion.
New Heights also captured a heartwarming moment as Donna Kelce joyfully celebrated the occasion. In a delightful photo, she can be seen posing with balloons, setting the tone for the upcoming festivities.
The Bearcats shared pictures from the event on Instagram, with the caption: “We will never forget this surprise commencement. Congratulations to Travis and Jason for finally receiving their diplomas!”
According to the University of Cincinnati, Jason Kelce and his younger brother both attended the university from 2006-2010 and 2008-2012 respectively. During their overlapping years, they had the opportunity to play football together.
Travis Kelce embraced Pinto before proceeding to chug his beer, showcasing a familiar tactic from the Kelce brothers. This isn’t the first time both Travis and Jason Kelce have been seen downing beer, as they were previously spotted doing so at a Cleveland Cavaliers game in March.
Now that they have received their diplomas, Travis Kelce can finally relax and enjoy the off-season before embarking on the European leg of his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour”. Meanwhile, Jason Kelce can fully embrace his retirement after making the announcement of his departure from the NFL a month ago.
