Investigation Commences Following South Carolina Pastor’s Claim of Wife’s Sudden Death by ‘Suicide’

An investigation has been initiated following a shocking revelation made by a South Carolina pastor to his congregation. The pastor disclosed that his wife had tragically passed away, with her death being suspected as a suicide.

Mica Miller tragically passed away over the weekend in North Carolina. The authorities in Robeson County discovered Mica’s body on April 27th at the Lumber River State Park, which is approximately an hour’s drive from their hometown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The obituary of the 30-year-old pastor’s wife painted a vivid picture of her character, describing her as a woman full of energy, affirmation, and adventure. She was known for her unwavering faith, unconditional love, and generous spirit. Her ability to forgive and her talents were widely recognized, and she approached life with joy and creativity. With her assertiveness and boldness, she tackled challenges head-on, demonstrating her determination and authority. She was a passionate individual who worked tirelessly and was unafraid to take risks. In short, she embodied a multitude of admirable qualities that made her a remarkable person.

Just days before her funeral, Pastor John-Paul Miller, from Solid Rock at Market Common in South Carolina, informed his congregation that his wife had tragically taken her own life. He revealed that she had been struggling with mental health issues for many years.

After his wife passed away, the South Carolina pastor chose a different approach during his sermon. Rather than conducting the usual altar call, he asked his parishioners to stand up and listen to an important announcement. Following the announcement, he requested that everyone leave the church quietly and refrain from discussing the news.

The pastor from South Carolina shared with his congregation the heartbreaking news of receiving a phone call informing him about his wife’s passing. He tearfully expressed, “I received a call last night. My beloved wife has tragically taken her own life, up in North Carolina. Please pray for me, our children, and everyone affected by this devastating loss. Many of you were aware of her struggles with mental health and the challenges she faced in accessing the necessary medication. While there may be more information to come, please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.”

The pastor went on to discuss his wife’s purported long-standing struggle with mental health problems, stating, “She had faced challenges with suicide in the past. We supported her through those difficult times, taking her to see doctors, and thankfully, she overcame them. In fact, she even shared her testimonies of triumph here in our church, which we have recorded on video. Despite battling with suicide, she found solace in God, who guided her through it all.”

On April 16, 2024, Mica took the initiative to file for Support and Maintenance. The Horry County Clerk’s Office in South Carolina confirmed that Mica Miller had submitted three separate requests for “support and maintenance” since the previous year, with the most recent one being on April 16. Shortly after, on April 28, Mica sadly passed away. Subsequently, a hearing notice was issued on April 23, with a court date scheduled for June.

Moreover, prior to her demise, Mica shared a collection of videos on the internet, indicating that she experienced abuse and yearned for tranquility.
