HPD says 2 suspects shoot at Houston-area club, injuring 4 after being denied entry

The Houston Police Department is currently on the lookout for the individuals responsible for a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday night. The incident took place outside a bar located on Washington Avenue in West Houston and resulted in injuries to four individuals.

Around 11:30 p.m., two men reportedly engaged in a physical altercation inside the Lincoln Bar near Reinerman Street. Following the incident, two off-duty deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, who were providing security at the establishment, intervened and requested the individuals involved to leave.

According to the police, the men left the building but got into an argument with the deputies when they tried to re-enter the club. However, the deputies denied their request.

One of the men entered a black Chevrolet SUV from the early 2000s, while the other stayed behind and engaged in an ongoing argument with the security personnel.

“The Assistant Chief, Wyatt Martin, emphasized that the shooters’ actions, firing without discrimination at a club instead of targeting specific individuals, clearly demonstrate their lack of concern for the safety of others. Whether under the influence or not, their disregard for the well-being of those around them is evident. Our primary goal is to apprehend these individuals and bring them to justice,” remarked Asst. Chief Wyatt Martin.

The Houston Police Department (HPD) stated that the deputies made a conscious decision not to return fire in order to avoid injuring any pedestrians who were in close proximity.

One deputy reportedly has 8 years of experience with HCSO at the age of 30, while the other deputy, who is 39 years old, has a total of 10 years in law enforcement and 3 years with HCSO.
