The Houston Police Department has identified the suspect involved in the murder of a local attorney at a McDonald’s over the weekend.
Anthony Martin Landry, 57, is being sought by authorities for the murder of 46-year-old Jeffrey Limmer, according to the department’s statement.
At around 6 p.m. on May 4, police were called to the McDonald’s located at 8147 Katy Freeway following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the fast food restaurant, they discovered an unconscious man who had been shot multiple times.
The man, identified as Limmer, was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The Houston Police Union has issued a warning, stating that the city is “not safe” due to murder suspects being allowed to roam freely on the streets. This alarming situation raises concerns about public safety and the need for urgent action to address the issue. The Houston Police Union is urging the city to take immediate steps to ensure that dangerous criminals are not left unchecked, posing a threat to the community. It is crucial to prioritize the safety and well-being of residents by implementing effective measures to apprehend and prosecute these individuals.
Anthony Landry, 57, is currently being sought by the authorities in connection with the murder of attorney Jeffrey Limmer, 46. The shooting incident occurred on May 4, and Landry was determined to be the prime suspect on Wednesday. As of early Friday morning, he remains at large. The Houston Police Department is actively pursuing his arrest.
According to FOX 26 Houston, Limmer was shot when he attempted to defuse a tense situation involving an irate customer and McDonald’s employees. The individual, identified as Landry, reportedly retrieved a firearm from his car and fired at Limmer.
Houston police said the suspect fled the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck from the early 2000s.
Limmer, aged 46, met a tragic end when he was shot and killed at the McDonald’s restaurant on Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas.
Landry is currently evading capture as of early Friday morning.
The Houston IRS office was forced to close early after a fight broke out among individuals. Witnesses reported that one person involved in the altercation exclaimed, “I ain’t doing no playing!” The incident caused disruptions and chaos, leading to the closure of the office.
In light of the news that a suspect has been identified in Limmer’s death, his family issued a statement on Thursday.
“Our family feels a sense of relief knowing that the authorities have identified the suspect. It is our fervent hope that he is swiftly apprehended to prevent any further harm to others. In addition, we are offering our prayers for the safety of law enforcement as they diligently work towards bringing him to justice. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community during this difficult time. We kindly request that you respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our beloved Jeff,” expressed the family to FOX 26.
Limmer worked as an associate at the Houston office of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, where he was a valued member of the General Liability Practice.
The Houston police have made public a previous booking photo of Landry in the hopes that someone will recognize him. If anyone has information that could lead to his arrest, they may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
