Harry will return to the UK for the first time since Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis

The Duke of Sussex is set to make a return to the UK to attend a ceremony commemorating the 10-year anniversary of the Invictus Games.

The Invictus Games made its debut in London in 2014, thanks to the efforts of Prince Harry. With a mission to provide a platform for injured and sick military personnel and veterans, this sporting event has become a symbol of resilience and determination.

Harry is expected to attend the service of thanksgiving at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday, May 8th. It is anticipated that he will deliver a reading during the service.

Since 2020, he has been residing in the US alongside his wife, Meghan, who is known as the Duchess of Sussex, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Harry will be visiting the UK for the first time since he last saw his father in February, when the announcement about King Charles’ cancer diagnosis was made. Buckingham Palace recently shared the news that King Charles will be resuming his public royal duties next week, as his cancer treatment has been successful.

This will be his first visit to the UK since his sister-in-law, Kate, publicly disclosed her own battle with cancer. The Duchess of Cambridge had been absent from public view for several weeks before her diagnosis was made known in March.

After being away from Britain for a while, the prince makes a notable comeback by attending the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

It remains uncertain if any other members of the Royal Family will attend the service, and it is also unknown if the Duchess of Sussex and their children will accompany him on the journey.

The service will feature readings from Harry and the British actor Damian Lewis, along with the presence of wounded veterans and members of the Invictus community.

The organizers have stated that the event will celebrate “ten years of transforming lives and preserving lives through sports.”

After the event, Harry and Meghan will travel to Nigeria as they have been invited by the country’s chief of defence staff. The invitation came after the chief of defence staff met Harry in Germany during the Invictus Games Dusseldorf in September last year.

According to Nigerian media reports, the couple is set to meet with service members and their families during their visit. They will also take part in various traditional cultural activities. Further information regarding the visit has not been disclosed at this time.

According to local newspapers, Defence Headquarters expressed their delight and honor upon receiving the news that Harry and Meghan, who has Nigerian heritage, have accepted their invitation.

This will be their inaugural trip to Nigeria as a couple.

In a recent development, Harry has officially announced his transition to becoming a US resident. Travalyst, a travel company under his control, has submitted the necessary documentation to British authorities, stating that he has relocated and now considers the United States as his primary place of residence.

After four years of stepping away from their royal duties and embarking on a new life in North America, specifically Canada and currently in Montecito, Southern California, Prince Harry and Meghan finally receive a formal acknowledgement.

Harry has rarely returned to Britain since he left, mainly for important events like the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in 2022 and his father’s coronation in May 2023.
