Georgia sells two Powerball tickets worth $50,000 each

Two individuals from Georgia scored big in the recent Powerball drawing, each winning $50,000. While it may not be the massive $1.326 billion jackpot, it’s still a significant windfall for the lucky winners.

Two lucky winners from Alpharetta and Leesburg have scored big with their winning tickets, as announced by the Georgia Lottery.

The massive Powerball jackpot was won by a single lucky ticket sold in Oregon. The drawing was initially delayed on Saturday night due to a procedural issue.

The winning numbers that were drawn in the early hours of Sunday morning were 22, 27, 44, 52, 69, with the Powerball number being 9.

If the winner chooses the cash option, they will receive a whopping $621 million.

Saturday’s drawing marked a significant milestone in the Powerball lottery, as it became the fourth-largest grand prize in Powerball history and the eighth-largest in the entire history of U.S. lotteries.

No one had won the Powerball jackpot since January 1st.

The Powerball drawing on Saturday night experienced a significant delay of over three hours. Officials from the lottery reported that one participating lottery required additional time to complete the necessary pre-draw procedures. These measures are implemented to ensure the security and integrity of the game.

The drawing took place in the Florida Lottery studio at around 2:29 a.m. EDT on Sunday, according to a statement released by Powerball.

Don’t forget, you can catch the live Powerball drawings every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night on Channel 2 at 11 p.m., right after WSB Tonight.
