Four people have been detained in a cold case triple murder, including an assistant school administrator

Earlier this month, a man named Keante Harris, aged 45, was indicted by a grand jury on three counts of malice murder for his alleged involvement in the killings that occurred 11 years ago. Alongside him, three other suspects, namely Kenneth Thompson, Kevin Harris, and Darrell Harris, were also charged with three counts each of malice murder, as stated by Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen in a statement.

According to Allen, the investigation into the murders has been ongoing by the Clayton County Police Department and the district attorney’s office. Recently, they were able to obtain indictments from the grand jury. The four suspects were arrested last week on fugitive from justice warrants in three different states. Harris is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, as shown in booking records.

In a statement to WAKA-TV, Walter Gonsoulin, the superintendent of Jefferson County Schools, confirmed that Harris holds the position of assistant principal at McAdory Middle School.

According to Gonsoulin, “We have received information regarding the arrest of Mr. Keante Harris on Wednesday afternoon. Currently, we are in the process of gathering all the necessary facts pertaining to this situation. However, initial indications suggest that the charges do not pertain to Mr. Harris’ employment with Jefferson County Schools. As per our standard procedure, Mr. Harris has been placed on paid administrative leave. We will adhere to our district’s policy as more information becomes available.”
