Former President Donald Trump declared winner of Georgia’s GOP Primary, confirms Secretary of State

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger declared that former President Donald Trump emerged victorious in the state’s Republican primary race, as revealed in a recent review. It is worth mentioning that the equipment utilized in the March 12 vote was identical to the equipment used during the 2020 election cycle.

The Secretary of State’s Office announced on Friday that former President Donald Trump has been officially confirmed as the winner of the Republican race in the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary. In a post-election audit conducted by all 159 Georgia counties, the ballots cast in the March 12th primary were thoroughly reviewed.

According to officials, the audit examined each county in Georgia, where officials were obliged to count a total of 413 randomly selected ballot batches from across the state. This accounted for 7.5% of all the ballots.

The Secretary of State’s Office conducted a risk-limiting audit during the review of the March 12 Republican Presidential Preference Primary election. The audit was conducted with a 5% risk limit.

The Georgia Secretary of State states that the small difference observed is expected in an audit of this scale and is mostly due to human error during the manual counting process.

Officials stated that the audit was conducted in accordance with state law on elections for statewide and federal contests.

“Our county election directors consistently go the extra mile,” expressed Raffensperger in a statement. “Their dedicated efforts ensure the security of our voting system, fostering trust within communities throughout the entire state.”

The Office of the Secretary of State also pointed out that all audits conducted in Georgia, including the manual recount of the 2020 election results, have consistently verified that the system operated effectively and that the outcome was accurate. They further emphasized that, just like in November 2022, VotingWorks and their Arlo auditing software played a crucial role in supporting Georgia’s audit.
