Couple in Henry County tying the knot as dying wish of man battling cancer

Jordan Barrett, who has been given a few months to live by doctors, has compiled a list of things he wishes to accomplish before his time runs out. One of his top priorities is to marry his fiancรฉ.

Barrett reveals that he received a stage three stomach cancer diagnosis last year. Following a successful combination of surgery and chemotherapy, he achieved remission.

Earlier this year, he stated that the cancer had made a more aggressive comeback. The doctors provided him with a prognosis, estimating that his day-to-day activities would be impacted within six weeks, and that he would succumb to the illness within four months.

Before that, the Locust Grove man mentioned that he and his fiancรฉ, Mikayla, have plans to tie the knot and embark on a romantic honeymoon.

In addition to his other desires, he expressed his wish to embark on a final family vacation, as mentioned in an online fundraising campaign.

The community has shown tremendous support for Barrett by donating almost $11,000 to his online fundraiser.

“I am immensely grateful for the incredible support system I have during this challenging time,” Barrett expressed with heartfelt appreciation. “Although I have come to terms with what lies ahead, I want to make the most of the time I have left by cherishing moments and being surrounded by the people I hold dear.”
