Couple apprehended with methamphetamine during traffic stop in northern Georgia mountains

During a routine traffic stop, law enforcement officers in White County discovered methamphetamine in the vehicle, resulting in charges being filed against two individuals.

On Thursday, May 2, deputies pulled over a vehicle and a K9 officer alerted its handler to the presence of drugs inside.

During the search, a deputy discovered approximately one kilogram of what appeared to be methamphetamine in the car.

Matthew Young, a 41-year-old resident of Lawrenceville, has been arrested and charged with the offense of trafficking in methamphetamine.

Heather Rutledge, 48, of Cumming, was accused with trafficking methamphetamine and wanted on an outstanding felony parole violation.
