Clayton County sheriff apprehends suspect accused of murdering grandmother in North Carolina

According to Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen, a man from Clayton County has been apprehended in North Carolina for the alleged murder of his grandmother.

Deputies conducted a wellness check at a residence on Clearview Circle in Riverdale on Thursday. Upon arrival, they discovered an elderly woman with injuries to her face, neck, and body, according to officials.

The suspect in the death of the victim has been identified as Takeem Rshaad Moore, 33, who is also the grandson of the victim, according to officials from the CCSO.

With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals and the Bencome County Sheriff’s Office, Moore was apprehended in Bencome, North Carolina.

Moore is currently being held at the Bencome County Jail without bond, as deputies say they await his extradition back to Clayton County.

The charges against him include malice murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated assault family violence charges.
