Chihuahuas Clinch Six-Game Series Victory Over Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma City Baseball Club jumped to an early lead with five runs and managed to fend off El Paso’s rally to secure an 8-6 victory over the Chihuahuas on Sunday night at Southwest University Park. This defeat snapped El Paso’s three-game winning streak. Despite the loss, the Chihuahuas clinched four out of six games in the series.

Chihuahuas center fielder José Azocar shone with a 2-for-4 performance, including a triple and two RBIs. Mason McCoy also contributed, going 1-for-4 with an RBI and his second triple in the last three games. With 44 triples this season, the Chihuahuas rank second in professional baseball, just behind Albuquerque’s 49. McCoy finished the series with a .435 batting average and six RBIs, hitting 10-for-23.

Sean Reynolds delivered a flawless top of the ninth inning Sunday, facing just three batters. He pitched in four of the six games in the series without giving up any runs. Tommy Nance also contributed 1.1 scoreless innings for the Chihuahuas on Sunday, maintaining a streak of no runs allowed in his last four appearances.
