Biden praises Newsom, quips about Californians departing the state as 2024 speculation swirls

President Biden expressed his admiration for California Governor Gavin Newsom and playfully mentioned the possibility of Californians escaping their state via a high-speed rail line. As rumors circulate about the potential of Governor Newsom replacing President Biden in the 2024 presidential race, Biden took a lighthearted approach to the situation.

During a meeting of the National Governors Association at the White House, President Biden expressed his appreciation for Governor Newsom’s leadership in the development of the nation’s first high-speed rail line in California and Nevada. He highlighted the progress being made in this significant infrastructure project.

“And by the way, I’m not sure how many people can make it to their destination in just two hours when leaving L.A., or whether they plan on returning,” Biden joked.

The Nevada Department of Transportation is planning a high-speed rail system that will connect Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The goal is to transport passengers between Las Vegas and Rancho Cucamonga in just two hours and 10 minutes. The trains will be designed to travel at speeds exceeding 186 miles per hour.

President Biden engaged in conversation with California Governor Gavin Newsom and his wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom upon his arrival at San Francisco International Airport in preparation for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

The officials have announced that the journey is expected to be completed in half the time it usually takes to drive. They are planning to begin construction on the project early this year with the aim of finishing it before the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.

Joe Rogan, the popular podcast host, has joined the discussion on whether the Democratic Party is considering replacing Biden with Newsom on the upcoming presidential ticket.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas engaged in discussions with California Governor Gavin Newsom and Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont during President Biden’s meeting with U.S. governors at the National Governors Association winter meeting. The meeting took place in the East Room of the White House in Washington, D.C. on Friday.

During one of his recent shows, Rogan expressed skepticism about the presidential campaign of the individual in question, suggesting that it could be a strategic move. He further speculated that there might be a plan to remove him from office and compel him to resign.

He added that if he had to speculate, it would be that they are setting up Gavin Newsom for it.

During a recent event at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul expressed his strong opinion about the speculation surrounding Gavin Newsom’s potential presidential ambitions. He urged the audience to be cautious and “never, ever let Gavin Newsom anywhere near the White House.” Senator Paul’s remarks emphasized the importance of considering the potential consequences of allowing Newsom to hold such a powerful position.
