Barron Trump unable to serve as RNC delegate due to ‘prior commitments’

Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Trump, has chosen not to accept the invitation to be a delegate for Florida at the upcoming Republican National Convention (RNC) this summer.

Former first lady Melania Trump’s office released a statement expressing Barron’s gratitude for being selected as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party. However, due to prior commitments, Barron has made the difficult decision to decline his participation.

The Florida GOP announced earlier this week that Barron Trump, who is 18 years old, will join three of his siblings, Eric, Tiffany, and Donald Trump Jr., as delegates. Eric Trump will serve as the chair of the state’s delegation.

Barron Trump’s first venture into the public political arena was anticipated. The Republican convention, scheduled for mid-July, will be held in Milwaukee, Wis.

According to the Daily Mail, it was reported that Barron Trump has decided not to serve as a delegate.

Barron Trump, the son of Donald and Melania Trump, was mostly shielded from public attention during his father’s presidency. At the time of his father’s election in 2016, Barron was just 10 years old.

During a radio interview on Friday, Trump revealed that his youngest son has taken an interest in politics.

“He actually has an interest in politics, which is quite amusing. There are times when he advises me, saying, ‘Dad, this is what you need to do.’ But overall, he’s a great guy. Currently, he’s a senior in high school and will soon be heading off to college,” shared the former president during an interview on Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT.
