On Tuesday, a motorcycle in South Jersey was involved in a fatal collision with a New Jersey State Police vehicle.
The incident occurred around midday on Route 70 in Southampton Township, Burlington County.
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office reported that a state trooper on duty was performing regular patrol duties on Rt. 70 when his marked vehicle collided with a motorcyclist on the highway near Burrs Mill Road.
The motorcyclist was taken to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, where he was declared dead around 12:45 p.m.
The state trooper did not suffer any major injuries, according to authorities.
The identity of the motorcyclist remains unknown.
