Seth Meyers points out unusual detail in Donald Trump Jr.’s fundraising email

Seth Meyers took a dig at Donald Trump Jr. following his request for assistance in safeguarding his father’s assets last week.

In a recent fundraising email, the eldest son of former President Donald Trump expressed concern over New York Attorney General Letitia James’ alleged attempt to seize Trump Tower. The email claimed that she is “seizing my boyhood home,” according to the “Late Night” host on Tuesday.

“Calling it a ‘boyhood home’ might give you the wrong impression. It’s definitely not some rundown shack situated by the banks of the Mississippi,” Meyers cleverly remarked.

He added that it feels strange to refer to a place as your boyhood home when it has a restaurant in the lobby.

In an email sent on Wednesday, it stated: “Friend, the Attorney General in New York who is strongly against Trump, attempted to take possession of my childhood home. She aimed to gain control over Trump Tower, one of the most renowned buildings in American history.”

Donald Trump was under the threat of having his assets seized by the state unless he could provide a bond of $464 million by March 25. However, on the day the payment was due, an appeals court stepped in and lowered the required amount to $175 million while also giving him an additional ten days to comply. Trump promptly posted the reduced bond amount and met the extended deadline.

If James had missed the deadline, he could have initiated the process of seizing his assets, including his Trump Tower skyscraper on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue, to collect the multimillion dollar judgment in the civil fraud case.
