A couple from Georgia had an extra special engagement thanks to Peeps.
In anticipation of Easter, Matthew Rivera and his girlfriend Carly Jessup embarked on a trip to Easton, Pennsylvania. They were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay in the luxurious Peeps’ Sweet Suite at the Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel.
Rivera revealed in an interview with PEOPLE Magazine that upon discovering a venue inspired by his girlfriend’s cherished confectionery, he instantly recognized it as the ideal setting to propose.
“We were searching for a vacation destination, and I knew that staying in a hotel room that was fully ‘PEEPed-out’ would be a dream come true for Carly,” Rivera shared. “Philadelphia was a city we had always wanted to visit, and since it was close by, it was the perfect opportunity for us to check it off our bucket list.”
Peeps recently hosted an exciting event called the Sweet Suite, where fans had the opportunity to stay for one or two nights between March 18 and 29. The room was beautifully adorned with custom-made Peeps decor and filled with delightful treats and merchandise, including pillows, rugs, and blankets.
According to Rivera, Jessup had been amassing Peeps memorabilia for more than two decades. In anticipation of reserving the suite, he reached out to Just Born Inc., the parent company of Peeps, to request assistance in making the occasion even more memorable.
Rivera expressed gratitude towards the team at Peeps, highlighting their exceptional support in assisting her with even the most minor aspects.
“It all happened so fast, but before I could fully grasp the moment, Rivera got down on one knee in the sweetest way possible,” Jessup shared. “He knows just how much I adore Peeps, so attending the Peeps Sweet Suite in March was already an incredible experience, but this proposal was the cherry on top of the cake!”
Jesup and her fiancé first crossed paths during their college days when they were assigned to work together on a class project.
“I was already smitten with her,” Rivera confessed. “I couldn’t help but think she was the most stunning girl I had ever laid eyes on.”
Rivera and Jesup’s love story commenced when Rivera mustered up the courage to ask Jesup out on a date. As time went on, their connection deepened, creating a beautiful history between them.
Carly’s beauty is not the only thing that captivates me. It’s her genuine and loving heart that truly sets her apart. Meeting her has been a transformative experience for me. She constantly inspires me to strive for greatness and be the best partner I can be. Carly deserves nothing but the absolute best, and I am determined to give it to her every single day.
