Missing woman was discovered dead in the Arizona desert after a month of searching

Arizona authorities made a grim discovery on Friday as they found the remains of a woman who had been missing in the Arizona desert for over a month.

The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook to officially confirm the finding of 27-year-old Amanda Nenigar on Saturday.

Late on Friday evening, the authorities confirmed that Amanda Nenigar had been found deceased. The family has been informed and has issued a statement requesting privacy. They also expressed their gratitude to the public for their help in searching for Amanda. During this difficult time, the family is asking for respect and urges everyone to refrain from spreading rumors and making assumptions.

According to AZ Family, authorities have reported that her body was found 1.5 miles away from the location where her car was abandoned on February 28th.

Before she was reported missing, Nenigar contacted 911 to inform them that her car had become stuck in a ditch. She provided the authorities with her coordinates and tried to describe her surroundings. However, her call was mistakenly directed to California authorities instead of Arizona ones. As a result, the officer directed the search efforts to a location nearly 30 to 40 miles away from where Amanda was actually stuck.

Nenigar disappeared on February 29th, according to reports.

Arizona authorities intervened and successfully tracked down her vehicle, which was stranded on a boulder in the desert near Cibola, Arizona on March 7th.

Marissa Nenigar, expressed her frustration with how the emergency services responded to her sister’s call.

“She provided her coordinates as California, and it’s puzzling why they didn’t redirect her call to dispatch in Arizona,” she expressed. “She gave them her precise location, and someone could have gone to retrieve her. They had the means to locate her.”
