Detectives in Prince George’s County tirelessly worked day and night to successfully apprehend two individuals who were sought in connection to the tragic shooting that claimed the life of a 2-year-old child. The incident took place outside an apartment complex in Langley Park on Thursday.

Israel Fuentes, Jr., 33, and Johnny Alejandro Turcios, 28, from Lewisdale, have been taken into custody for their involvement in the tragic death of Jeremy Poou-Caceres. The incident occurred on February 8, shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Police reported that a detective working in the vicinity of the 1400 block of Kanawha Street heard gunshots at around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, which prompted an immediate investigation.

Poou-Caceres was quickly taken to the hospital, where medical professionals declared him deceased shortly after. Later on, investigators were able to establish a connection between the shooting and Turcios and Fuentes.
