During an interview on Sunday’s MediaBuzz, Fox News’ Howard Kurtz managed to provoke some surprising remarks from former President Donald Trump.
During his interview with Trump, Kurtz covered a wide range of topics including immigration, Putin, “fake news,” and the “rigged election.” Throughout the interview, the former president stood firm and did not shy away from any of the questions Kurtz posed to him.
These are the top five most outrageous remarks from Trump’s strange interview.
“I wasn’t aware of that, but that’s what people say,” Trump admitted when confronted with his limited knowledge of WWII history. He then went on to explain his reasoning behind using such language when discussing undocumented migrants.
Because our country is being poisoned. Look, we can be nice about a it, we can talk about, oh, I want to be politically correct, but we have people coming in from prisons and jails, long-term murderers, people with sentences that the rest are of their lives they’re going to spend in some jail in some country that many people have never even a heard of. They’re all being released into our country. These are murderers, these are people at the highest level of crime, and then you have mental institutions and insane asylums. I always say the difference is one is silence of the lambs. It’s a mental institution on steroids, okay?
2. Trump’s indecisiveness on the matter of Putin

Trump continued to show his lack of commitment when it came to assigning blame to Russian President Vladimir Putin for the death of Alexei Navalny in a Siberian prison camp.
Kurtz asked Trump if he believed that Vladimir Putin bore some responsibility for the death of Alexei Navalny.
I don’t know, but perhaps. Possibly, I could say probably. I don’t know. He’s a young man, so, statistically he’d be alive for a long time. If you go by the insurance numbers, he’d be alive for another 40 years. So something happened that was unusual.
3. Trump escalates his ongoing feud with Jimmy Kimmel
Kurtz inquired about the ongoing feud between you and Jimmy Kimmel. He mentioned your post during the Academy Awards where you questioned if there has ever been a worse host than Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars. Kimmel responded to your post on-air and made a remark about you trying too hard.
Trump replied, “I also made some other impressive points.”
“Did you seek revenge?” inquired Kurtz.
Out of nowhere, Trump blurted out, “George Sloppadopoulos. George Sloppadopoulos.”
Now, look, Jimmy Kimmel is, he hits me, I guess, every night. His ratings are terrible. He’s not a talented guy. I hear he hits me all the time, so is I figured I’d hit him because I thought he was a lousy host. I put it out on Truth, which is on fire, by the way. TruthSocial is doing great. I never expected he was going to be reading it. Just prior to the movie of the year, which is the big one, right? That’s the big one. I think they get the man, the woman, now the move of the year. He reads my Truth on air…and now the big story is that they all a begged him not to do it, don’t do it, and he probably, stupidly, you know, he had to act in a short period of time, like minutes, right? He had minutes because he’s on air. He sees this thing and he wants to go out there, and he wants to, I guess, confront me. And he ends up reading my Truth. I said, “This guy’s even dumber than I thought.” The thing went viral. It’s been all over the world now, and all he had to do was keep his mouth shut.
4. Trump stands firm in response to inquiries about threats against network broadcast licenses
In a recent interview, President Trump was questioned about his stance on potential threats against network broadcast licenses. Rather than backing down, Trump remained resolute in his position. He emphasized the importance of fairness and accuracy in media reporting, expressing concerns about biased coverage. While acknowledging the significance of a free press, he emphasized the need for accountability and called for a level playing field. Trump’s unwavering response showcases his commitment to ensuring that media outlets uphold journalistic standards and provide unbiased information to the public.
Kurtz criticized the lack of coverage of your speech by two networks following the Iowa caucuses. He pointed out that you seemed to be suggesting that CNN and NBC should have their licenses or privileges revoked for not carrying your speech. This appeared to be a threat against television outlets whose reporting you disagree with.
Trump expressed his astonishment at the media’s approach of focusing on negative coverage of a candidate for months and then completely disregarding his speeches after he wins a primary. He described this practice as “incredible.”
I guess it was “Fake Tapper” or somebody turned it off, he said, “Turn it off.” I think, actually, MSNBC did do it — “MSDNC” — but they did do it. But I think it was CNN that didn’t cover it. Jake Tapper, who I used to know and actually sort of liked him, actually, but he hurts himself very badly when he does a thing like that. And he hurts the ratings, too. You look at CNN ratings, they’re so bad. So, you cover, though — I mean, think of it — you’re covering someone for a year, and this is the culmination, this is the big moment, and people want to watch it, and you say, “I’m not going to put his speech on.” How can you do that?
5. Trump doubles down on his claims of a “rigged” election and challenges Fox to censor them.
Inquiring about Trump’s appeal, Kurtz asked him, “What is the key aspect that people fail to comprehend about your appeal?”
In an unexpected turn, Trump brought up the topic of the “rigged” 2020 election and even suggested that Fox could remove his response from the interview if they wished. This was clearly alluding to the massive $787.5 million settlement that Fox had to pay due to their dissemination of false reports regarding election fraud.
In reference to his victory in the 2016 election, Trump confidently stated, “So, you know, we ended up winning.” He further emphasized his success in the 2020 election, highlighting that he garnered millions and millions of additional votes compared to the previous race. However, he expressed his belief that the election was rigged, acknowledging that Fox may choose to omit this particular statement.
Kurtz interrupted, stating, “Well, I would just say that it hasn’t been proven in court.”
“We’re going to do it again,” Trump declared, expressing his belief that the previous situation was incredibly unfair and manipulated.
