During their investigation, law enforcement focused their attention on Hill Street and Washington Street, as well as South 10th Street and Clinton Avenue. As a result, Essex County Sheriff Armando B. Fontoura reported a significant seizure of illegal items, including four firearms, 39 grams of heroin, 828 grams of cocaine, and over 60 ecstasy pills.
According to Fontoura, the police have apprehended several individuals in connection with the case. Among those arrested are Jermaine Hartwell, a resident of Edgewater Park, Stephen Heien from Flanders, Israel Hughee from Newark, Victor Liggins from Bloomfield, and Bruce Williams, also from Newark.
According to Fontoura, the five individuals are currently held at the Essex County Correctional Facility while awaiting their arraignment.
