North Carolinian Michael Whatley was unanimously voted as the chairman of the Republican National Committee during a Friday morning meeting in Houston.
Tom Whatley, the current chairman of the state party, will take over from Ronna McDaniel as the new party chairman. He has been the preferred choice for the position by former President Donald Trump, who is the only candidate left for the party’s presidential nomination.
Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of the 45th president, has been unanimously voted as the co-chairwoman.
McDaniel had previously announced her plan to step down, in accordance with the established protocols.
John Whatley, who has been the chairman of North Carolina’s Republican Party since 2017, was reelected to a fourth term just last month. As the general counsel to the national committee, he holds a crucial position within the party. Lara Trump, on the other hand, is married to Eric Trump, the third son of the former president. Known for her previous TV roles and her leadership on the Trump-Pence Women’s Empowerment Tour, Lara Trump is a prominent figure in the Republican sphere.
In a recent social media post, Whatley expressed his determination to make Joe Biden a one-term president. He eagerly anticipates collaborating with fellow Republicans to achieve victories at all levels of the ballot.
