According to the President, he commended her performance during her tenure as the head of Michigan. He also acknowledged her initial performance at the RNC, but hinted at the possibility of changes being made in the near future.

Ronna McDaniel has held the position of RNC chair since 2017, making her the longest-serving chair in modern history. However, she has faced criticism from conservative activists, particularly those affiliated with the pro-Trump group Turning Point USA, who believe she is too closely aligned with the party establishment. In her bid for reelection last year, McDaniel faced opposition from Harmeet Dhillon, a California RNC committee member who received support from Turning Point USA. Despite this, McDaniel ultimately won the election with the support of the majority of RNC members.
