Jon Stewart is recognized for various talents, including his sharp wit and humor. However, during a recent episode of “The Daily Show,” he displayed a more heartfelt side as he spoke about his beloved dog, Dipper. With visible emotion, the renowned late-night host recounted a touching story from approximately 13 years ago, when his children decided to raise funds for a local animal shelter in New York City. To achieve this, they organized a cupcake sale at a table set up outside their residence.
To attract more visitors to their table, the shelter decided to introduce a 1-year-old brindle pit bull to the Stewart family. Unfortunately, the adorable puppy had lost one of his legs due to a car accident. It goes without saying that Stewart instantly developed a deep affection for the dog.
“We left that day with a sense of fulfillment, knowing that we had made a positive impact on this wonderful organization,” Stewart recalls. “But we also left with a brindle pit bull who was around one year old. We named him Dipper. Among all the good boys out there, he was truly the best.”
Stewart fondly recalls Dipper’s daily visits to The Daily Show, which left a lasting impression on him and his guests. However, amidst the reminiscing, he shares the heartbreaking news that Dipper passed away the day before.
