Survey: Hogan has a double-digit lead over Democratic rivals

Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is currently leading by a significant margin over the leading Democratic candidate for Senate, as revealed by a recent poll.

According to recent polls, Governor Larry Hogan is leading Congressman David Trone by a significant margin of 49% to 33% in a potential race between the two.

A recent poll conducted by Ragnar Research Partners interviewed 600 likely voters to gauge their preferences in the upcoming Senate race. The survey specifically focused on Republican Governor Hogan and the top Democrats vying for the soon-to-be vacant seat currently held by Democratic Senator Ben Cardin, who plans to retire.

In a head-to-head matchup, Hogan emerged victorious once again, this time against Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. The former governor secured a resounding 52% of the vote, while Alsobrooks trailed behind with only 29%. Hogan’s popularity and support proved to be a significant advantage in this match-up.

Earlier this month, Hogan entered the race after there were initial speculations that he was eyeing the White House.

Entering a crowded Republican field as one of seven candidates hoping to represent the GOP, the poll may provide Hogan with much-needed momentum.

If Hogan emerges victorious in the primary, his path to victory in the traditionally blue state will largely depend on his ability to appeal to moderate voters. In the previous election, Democratic Governor Wes Moore secured a resounding victory with an impressive 64% of the vote.

Hogan is actively trying to distance himself from the recent ruling in Alabama, which classified frozen embryos as “human.” In a strategic move to appeal to moderate voters, the former governor is aiming to find a middle ground between his previous stance on abortion and the current controversy surrounding frozen embryos.

On X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, Hogan expressed his support for the overturning of the Alabama ruling, stating that IVF provides an opportunity for many Americans to experience the joy of parenthood. According to him, the government should not hinder this journey towards becoming parents.
