A 15-year-old girl, who had gone missing during her vacation in Galveston, Texas, was located on Tuesday, February 20th, in Sterling County, bringing an end to the search.
The Sterling County Sheriff’s Office discovered the girl following a call from a detective at the Galveston Police Department, who provided a potential location for her.
According to the information received, she was traveling on a Greyhound bus heading northbound on U.S. Highway 87. Sheriff Russell Irby of Sterling County successfully located the bus around 18 miles north on U.S. 87 in Sterling County and was able to safely locate the girl inside the vehicle.
The AMBER alert for her got canceled on February 20th, around 7:30 p.m. Her parents were overjoyed when they were finally reunited with her in the early hours of February 21st, around 2:45 a.m.
She voluntarily left the 7000 block of Seawall Boulevard in Galveston, Texas, at 4:02 a.m. on Feb. 20 before going missing. Being unfamiliar with Texas and in need of medication, there were heightened concerns about her safety.
