Late night host Jimmy Kimmel recently shared a health update regarding his 7-year-old son Billy, who recently underwent his third open heart surgery.
On Sunday, Kimmel took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the medical team for their hard work and to provide an update on his son’s operation. He shared a heartfelt message, detailing the procedure that his son underwent.
“This weekend, our son Billy underwent his third open heart surgery, and we were filled with a mix of hope and fear. Thankfully, the procedure was a success, and we are relieved to see our little boy with a new valve and in great health,” shared Kimmel.
At the time, Kimmel described the condition as follows: “The pulmonary valve was completely blocked, and there was a hole in the wall between the left and right sides of his heart.”
In an update shared seven months later, following his son’s second heart surgery, Kimmel seized the chance to address the ongoing battle for accessible healthcare.
“It’s unacceptable that any parent would have to make the heartbreaking choice of whether they can afford to save their child’s life,” expressed Kimmel passionately during his show. “This kind of situation should never occur, especially not in our country.”
In a recent Instagram post, Kimmel expressed his gratitude and admiration for his wife Molly, acknowledging her incredible strength as a mother that goes beyond what is considered normal.
The team at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles received heartfelt appreciation for their immense kindness and expertise.
