Murray competed in the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. However, he withdrew from the tournament during Friday’s second round due to an illness. No additional details were provided at the time.
On Saturday morning, the Tour made the heartbreaking announcement that the young and immensely talented golfer had tragically passed away.
PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan expressed profound sadness and shared the devastating news of the passing of Grayson Murray, a PGA TOUR player. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences and acknowledged the difficulty in finding words to express the depth of their sorrow.

They expressed their strong desire for us to proceed with the tournament, as they firmly believed it is what Grayson would have wanted. Although it will undoubtedly be challenging, we are committed to honoring their wishes.
