A 26-year-old man is set to face charges that include assault with intent to murder, as well as two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, following allegations that he stabbed two individuals at a nearby rest-stop restaurant on Saturday.
The suspect, 26-year-old Jared Ravizza, was identified by authorities on Sunday afternoon.
Ravizza was taken into custody on Saturday night, but he is currently undergoing medical treatment at a local hospital for injuries that are not life-threatening.
Prosecutors stated on Sunday that they have established a connection between the man and the reported stabbing incident involving four girls at a movie theater in a neighboring town.
According to the DA’s office, Ravizza was accused of stabbing two employees at a McDonald’s in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was subsequently apprehended in the town of Sandwich.
Authorities were alerted to a stabbing incident at a McDonald’s restaurant at the Route 3 rest area in Plymouth around 7:00 p.m. ET. A 911 call was made, and it was reported that the suspect had left the scene. This information was provided in a press release by prosecutors.
Upon arriving at the scene, emergency personnel were met with two victims. The first victim was a 21-year-old female, while the second victim was a 28-year-old male. Both individuals had sustained knife laceration injuries. The emergency responders wasted no time and swiftly transferred the injured victims to nearby hospitals for immediate medical attention.
According to prosecutors, Ravizza is accused of fleeing the scene in his car following the attack.
Ravizza was apprehended by authorities in Sandwich around 7:15 p.m.
Just an hour before the attack at McDonald’s, a stabbing spree took place at a movie theater in Braintree, Massachusetts. As reported by Braintree Police, four girls were injured in the incident.
A man reportedly walked into the AMC Braintree 10 theater at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, according to authorities.
According to the authorities, the suspect reportedly fled from the scene in a black SUV. Through the aid of video footage, the police managed to identify a license plate number, which they promptly shared with other law enforcement agencies.
Authorities made a startling discovery after receiving the alert – a car that matched the description was found to be connected to a “similar assault” at the McDonald’s in Plymouth.
Authorities believe that the incidents at AMC, where four young girls were stabbed, are connected, although Ravizza has not been charged in the case.
