Cassie breaks silence following the release of a video showing Diddy assaulting someone in a hotel

Cassie Ventura has finally broken her silence since the emergence of a disturbing video from 2016, which captured her then-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs physically assaulting her in a hotel.

Ventura expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and support received from family, friends, and even strangers in an Instagram post on Thursday. They acknowledged that this outpouring of love has provided a sense of solace and security for their younger self. However, they also emphasized that this is just the start of their journey.

“Domestic violence is an issue that shattered me, transforming me into someone I never imagined I would be. Through immense perseverance, I have managed to make significant progress, yet I am constantly in the process of healing from my past,” Ventura shared. “I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has acknowledged the gravity of this matter. My only request is for everyone to genuinely believe victims from the very beginning. It requires immense courage to speak the truth about a situation where one feels utterly powerless.”

Ventura concluded her statement with a heartfelt message to those going through similar struggles, urging them not to isolate themselves and to seek support from loved ones. She extended a helping hand, emphasizing that no one should bear the burden alone. While the healing process may be ongoing, the support of others is invaluable. Ventura expressed her gratitude, stating that their presence meant everything to her.

“I hit rock bottom, but I won’t make any excuses,” he admitted. “The way I behaved in that video is completely unacceptable, and I take full responsibility for my actions.”

In response to Diddy’s video, Ventura’s lawyer released a statement, stating that “Combs’ latest statement is more self-centered, focusing on himself rather than the numerous people he has harmed.”

Music mogul Combs is currently dealing with multiple civil lawsuits that level serious accusations against him, including rape, sex trafficking, and more. The most recent lawsuit, the sixth in total, was filed this week by former model Crystal McKinney. McKinney alleges that she was “drugged and sexually assaulted” by Combs after meeting him at a Fashion Week event in New York City back in 2003.

ABC News has attempted to contact Combs in regards to McKinney’s civil lawsuit but has not yet received a response.

Sean Combs is currently under investigation by federal authorities for allegations of human and sex trafficking. This investigation led to the raid of his homes in Los Angeles and Miami by federal agents in March. Despite the ongoing probe, Combs has consistently maintained his innocence and denied any involvement in illegal activities related to this case.
