Biden is set to kick off his day at the Westwood Park YMCA in Nashua, New Hampshire. During this event, he will make an announcement regarding the PACT Act-related claims. It is noteworthy that over 1 million claims have been granted so far. The law, which was signed by Biden in 2022, has resulted in more than 888,000 veterans and survivors across all 50 states and U.S. territories receiving new service-connected disability benefits.
The PACT Act guarantees that veterans who were exposed to toxic substances like burn pits during their service are provided with essential healthcare and disability benefits. In Massachusetts and New Hampshire alone, around 22,000 veterans have submitted claims, highlighting the urgent need for support and assistance in addressing the health consequences of such exposures.
Biden will conclude his day in Boston, making two campaign receptions in the city. These appearances are strategically timed to coincide with the evening commute and the start of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Celtics and Pacers at the TD Garden.
A demonstration near South Station at 3:30 p.m., which could disrupt the afternoon commute, is being planned by a pro-Palestinian group, as posted online.
It is highly encouraged for the public to consider using public transportation or making changes to their travel plans if it involves going into Boston.
After 8 p.m., Biden is set to leave Boston.
