A man from Sioux City, who has been wanted on charges of vehicular homicide since a fatal downtown accident last October, has been arrested in Alabama.
Wesley Louis Staten, a 31-year-old individual, was taken into custody last Thursday at approximately 1 p.m. in Alabama by a U.S. Marshal who serves as a member of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Staten faces local charges of vehicular homicide for his involvement in a devastating two-vehicle crash on October 13th. The collision occurred at the intersection of 6th and Wesley Parkway, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives: Terry Alan Frisbie, 51, from Sioux City, and Judith Lee Jordan, 50, from Le Mars.
According to authorities, Staten allegedly drove a Ford Expedition at a high speed westbound on 6th Street. He then ran a red light and collided with a northbound Ford Fusion that was occupied by the two victims at the intersection.
Staten is currently being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama, as he awaits extradition back to Sioux City.
