Authorities discover cache of 47 firearms, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other illicit substances in Paulding County residence

Authorities discovered a wide range of illicit substances and firearms during a search of a residence in Paulding County. The seized items included methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, and a total of 47 firearms.

On Thursday, May 2, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force, alongside the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, carried out a search warrant at 2391 McGarity Road in Temple.

After conducting a thorough two-month-long drug investigation, the search was initiated.

Law enforcement officers discovered more than a kilogram of methamphetamine within the residence, alongside varying quantities of cocaine, ecstasy, MDEA, psilocybin mushrooms, and marijuana.

Additionally, the authorities discovered a total of forty-seven firearms within the residence.

Gerry Edwards, aged 39, and Reana Phelps, aged 32, were apprehended by deputies.

Edwards faced multiple charges which included trafficking methamphetamine, possessing a Schedule 1 narcotic, amphetamines, and a firearm as a convicted felon.

Phelps faced charges for being in possession of methamphetamine.
