Authorities have confirmed that a man from Mississippi, who was wanted in connection with a triple shooting that resulted in the deaths of his mother and two sisters, was fatally shot by state troopers in Arizona.
On Mother’s Day, the bodies of the women were discovered at a home in Ridgeland, located north of Jackson, according to an email from Police Chief Brian Myers.
According to the authorities, it is believed that the individuals were shot and killed inside the residence on Saturday.
According to Myers, the victims have been identified as Ida Thomas Welch, aged 76; Vicky Renee Welch, aged 56; and Crystal Lynn Welch, aged 42. Their discovery came after concerned family members requested a welfare check.
According to Myers, the police have obtained an arrest warrant accusing Ivory James Welch III, the son of Ida Welch, of murder.
State troopers in Arizona found Ivory Welch on Monday after she fled the state, according to Myers.
According to a statement from a representative of the Arizona Department of Public Safety, troopers were notified about a possible sighting of the suspect in Safford, located west of the New Mexico line, at 7:30 a.m. After nearly three hours, authorities spotted the suspect on a nearby interstate and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop in an attempt to apprehend him.
Ivory Welch exited his vehicle and brandished a firearm, leading to a trooper-involved shooting, according to the statement.
The suspect died at the scene, and no law enforcement agents were harmed in the exchange of gunfire.

According to the American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi, Crystal Welch has served as the president of its board of directors since last year.
