A notorious drug and gun trafficker, who has a long history of criminal activities in Virginia, has been sentenced to an additional 15 years in prison. This sentence comes after being found guilty of distributing large quantities of fentanyl in the local area. Federal authorities have made this announcement, emphasizing the severity of the crime.
Carrington Hammond, 29, has faced several prosecutions for drug and weapons offenses, as per officials. Recently, he was sentenced following the discovery of an illegal weapon and a variety of drugs inside an apartment in Alexandria.
Hammond collaborated with suppliers from Arizona and local dealers in Virginia to distribute kilogram quantities of fentanyl, according to prosecutors.
In Virginia, Hammond was involved in the distribution of fentanyl in powder form, alongside cocaine.
According to court documents, Hammond was involved in a conspiracy where he sold multiple weapons, some of which were recovered by police investigators. One of the weapons he sold was an illegal “ghost gun.”
In August of last year, authorities report that police conducted a search of an apartment in Alexandria that Hammond and his associates utilized for their operation. In the course of the search, law enforcement confiscated the following items:

- More than five kilogramsย of counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl;
- Over two kilograms of fentanyl powder;
- Over one kilogram of cocaine;
- 2.5 kilograms of marijuana;
- Two firearms.
According to prosecutors, one of the firearms was concealed beneath a cushion on the couch, while the other was a loaded semi-automatic weapon stored next to a safe that held a kilogram of fentanyl.
According to the authorities, Hammond has faced several prosecutions at the state level for various offenses including drug and firearm-related crimes, as well as acts of violence. They further mentioned that three of his alleged co-conspirators are set to be sentenced on February 20th.
