HB 1291 aims to prevent teacher preparation programs from promoting distorted versions of significant historical events to prospective teachers. Additionally, the bill seeks to discourage the inclusion of identity politics in teaching methods.
According to DeSantis, the state of Florida takes pride in advocating for its citizens and standing up for what is morally just. He emphasizes the importance of remaining true to their principles, even when faced with external influences from outside of Florida and even outside of the United States.
