CBS made a major announcement during a press briefing in Los Angeles on Thursday. Not only did they unveil their fall schedule, but they also revealed a complete lineup for the 2024-2025 broadcast season.
The final season of “Young Sheldon” is coming to a close on Thursdays at 8 p.m. However, there is exciting news as the spinoff series “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” is set to take over that time slot, followed by “Ghosts” at 8:30 p.m. One of the highlights of the lineup is “Tracker,” which not only became the top new series of the 2023-2024 season but also garnered the highest viewership overall. To give it an even better position, the show is moving from its previous Sunday 9 p.m. slot to the earlier time of 8 p.m.
CBS is keeping several of its traditions intact. The flagship series “FBI” will continue to air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m., followed by “FBI: International” at 9 p.m. and “FBI: Most Wanted” at 10 p.m. On Mondays, “NCIS” will maintain its 9 p.m. timeslot. With the cancellation of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” the 9:30 p.m. slot will be filled by the newest installment of the franchise, “NCIS: Origins.”
On Wednesdays, the schedule predominantly features unscripted programming. However, this will change as the season progresses, particularly in January, when there will be a separate lineup to bridge the gap between the fall and spring seasons. During both the fall and spring seasons, “Survivor” will continue to air 90-minute episodes starting at 8 p.m. While “The Amazing Race” usually follows immediately after, it will not be part of the fall lineup and will return with a new season at 9:30 p.m. in the spring. In place of “The Amazing Race” during the fall, a new competition series called “The Summit” will be introduced.
In January, the schedule will feature two segments. The first segment will start with “The Price Is Right at Night” at 8 p.m. Following that, at 9 p.m., “Raid the Cage” will air. Lastly, at 10 p.m., viewers can enjoy a reboot of the game show “Hollywood Squares” hosted by Drew Barrymore.
Other shows joining the CBS lineup are the comedy “Poppa’s House” starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., airing on Mondays at 8 p.m., the reboot of “Matlock” premiering on Thursdays at 9 p.m., and the medical drama “Watson” featuring Morris Chestnut, which will air on Sundays at 10 p.m.
On Fridays, there is a distinction between fall and spring schedules. This is due to the recent announcement that the final season of “Blue Bloods” will be aired in two parts, concluding before the end of the year. During the fall, the eighth season of “S.W.A.T.” will premiere at 8 p.m., followed by “Fire Country” at 9 p.m., and “Blue Bloods” at 10 p.m. In the spring, “NCIS: Sydney” will kick off the lineup, with “Fire Country” maintaining its 9 p.m. slot and “S.W.A.T.” moving to 10 p.m.
