Sonja Christopher, the inaugural castaway voted off the reality TV show “Survivor,” has sadly passed away. This heartbreaking news was confirmed by a participant currently competing on the show.
Liz Wilcox, a contestant on season 46 of “Survivor,” revealed the heartbreaking news on X Friday. She shared a photo on her account of herself and Sonja, whom she had met over Christmas, engaging in a heartfelt conversation on FaceTime.

Sonja participated in the reality TV show “Survivor: Borneo” in 2000. Despite having good relations with her fellow teammates, her team faced several setbacks in the first week, ultimately leading to their loss. Unfortunately, Sonja was voted off the island as a result, becoming the first person to be eliminated from the competition.
Her presence on the show was truly significant, leaving a lasting impression on many who had the pleasure of witnessing it.
Christopher is famous for showcasing her ukulele skills on the show. She looks back at her time on “Survivor” with fondness, despite being eliminated early. In a 2020 interview with EW, she expressed how the entire experience provided her with a platform to raise funds for causes close to her heart.
Sonja, the remarkable individual, was a vibrant 87 years old.
