A new national poll shows that Biden leads Trump among registered voters

President Biden is currently holding a slight lead over former President Trump in a recent national poll of voters. Moreover, this lead expands slightly when focusing on those who have expressed their definitive intention to vote in the upcoming November elections.

According to a recent Marist/PBS NewsHour poll, Joe Biden is currently leading Donald Trump among registered voters. The poll, which was published on Monday, shows Biden with a slight increase in his lead, with 51 percent of registered voters supporting him compared to Trump’s 48 percent. This represents a small improvement from a previous poll that had Biden leading with 50 percent to Trump’s 48 percent.

According to the poll, Biden’s lead expands to 53 percent to 47 percent when considering only those who confirmed their intention to vote in the upcoming November election.

Among independent voters, both men are tied at 49 percent, while 2 percent remain undecided.

Biden remains ahead in the poll, even when the survey included independent and third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, and Jill Stein.

In the latest polls, even with the inclusion of those three candidates, Biden maintains his lead over Trump among registered voters. Biden currently holds a 43% to 38% advantage, with Kennedy receiving 14% of the support. Interestingly, Kennedy manages to garner support from 8% of Democrats, 10% of Republicans, and a significant 27% of independent voters.

According to a recent poll, conducted from April 16-18, which coincided with the opening week of Trump’s hush money trial in New York City, 1,192 adults were surveyed, including 1,047 registered voters. The poll has a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.
