15 People Injured, 1 in Critical Condition in Universal Studios Tram Crash

Fifteen park-goers were taken to local hospitals after a tram crash occurred during one of Universal Studios Hollywood’s renowned studio tours.

The LACFD swiftly arrived at the theme park shortly after 9 PM. Although there is limited information available about the incident, authorities have reported that the majority of individuals sustained minor injuries. However, one person’s condition remains critical.

According to LACS Lt. Maria Abal, the last car in a four-car tram hit a rail while traveling down one of the hills. The L.A. Times reports that there was “some type of issue with the brakes.”

The crash is currently under investigation by the CHP.

According to Universal spokesperson, there was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries. This information has been confirmed by the LA County Fire Department.

“We are actively working to assist our guests and gain a thorough understanding of the circumstances that resulted in the accident,” the statement emphasized.

The tour first premiered in 1964 and offers guests the opportunity to explore the backlot, where numerous iconic movies and TV shows have been filmed throughout the years. Among the notable productions featured on the tour are “Jaws” and “Nope,” directed by Jordan Peele.
