Suri Cruise is marking a major milestone as she turns 18 and celebrates her birthday in New York City. Despite the rainy weather, she chooses to take a leisurely walk with a friend.
Suri refused to let the gloomy weather dampen her spirits on her special day. She joyfully engaged in conversation with her friend, seeking shelter beneath her vibrant pink umbrella.
Suri strolled around town with a gift bag in her hand, indicating that the celebrations had already begun. While it is uncertain whether there will be any grand festivities later on – considering her preference for a low-key lifestyle – one can only imagine that her mom, Katie Holmes, has something special planned for such a momentous birthday.
Suri’s dad, Tom Cruise, won’t be joining in on the birthday fun for a couple of reasons.
Tom is currently in London filming a new project, so he is far away from Suri at the moment.
According to reports, the father and daughter have not had a close relationship since 2012.

The last time they were seen together publicly was during their visit to Disney World that summer. Coincidentally, it was also the year when Katie initiated the divorce process from Tom, and their daughter Suri was only 6 years old at the time.
