Authorities have stated that Meister was discovered with injuries that are consistent with a fall down a cliff, and they do not suspect any foul play.
Meister embarked on her hike around 10 a.m. on Monday and was reported missing later that night, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to the sheriff’s office, Meister had planned to hike a trail that loops back around to the Zen Center. However, she also mentioned her interest in hiking the Windcave Trail.
According to authorities, the woman had only packed enough food for one day and was not prepared with appropriate clothing or supplies to stay overnight.
According to Meister’s parents, she has been residing and working at the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center for the past year and a half, as reported by Monterey Bay affiliate KSBW.
According to her father, John Meister, she is quite knowledgeable about the area and has a great passion for hiking.
