The official release of the data for the last quarter of 2023 is still pending.

According to Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry, last year witnessed a staggering number of over 5,000 police officers being attacked and injured. He emphasizes that this not only sets a record, but also signifies a full-blown epidemic.

The recent surge in brutal attacks against police officers did not happen overnight. This hostile environment has been festering for years. In order for things to improve, it is crucial that those who assault law enforcement officials are held accountable and face imprisonment. However, this can only be achieved if the people of New York continue to raise their voices and demand an end to the prevailing chaos.
